  •  SOLD  1996 Ibanez GB-100
    Upscaled neighbor of GB-10
Ibanez GB-100, the upscaled sister of the widely known GB-10, is found rarer due to its shorter production between 1993 and early years of new millenium(reported by John, 4th May 2022). Major features distinguishing herself from GB-10 are half inch-deeper body depth, top quality timbers including arched flamed maple top, and aesthetic design of floral inlays and abalone body binding. Floating pickups, medium jumbo frets and D neck profiles are the common specs to GB-10, I reckon.

Manufactured in 1996 by Fujigen, this beauty has a few areas to be mentioned with regard to maintenance. Repaint has been done on the rear neck, which appears to be a lacquer blot. This is purely cosmetic and my hand doesn't feel any difference to other part of neck when touching around the repainted area. Thin binding crack is both on left and right side neck of 9th fret. Lacquer wear is found around 7 to 9 fret right neck. Lastly, strap pin has been moved from upper right end to mid top of rear body.

I am playing this lovely vintage at my gigs and love its deep and warm jazzy tone. Flat wound strings are put. Neck is straight, no string buzz at all. Action is properly set. If you are a Japan vintage hollow body seeker, your guitar inventory should include Greco SA, Yamaha SA/AE and either Ibanez GB or JSM/AS-200.
